MR-D100 is not the same product type as a hydrogenated DCPD resin. Hydrogenation changes color, unsaturation, aging behavior, and price positioning. Select MR-D100 where the non-hydrogenated resin’s compatibility and reactivity profile fit the application rather than where water-white color is mandatory.
Formulation and application notes
In rubber and tire compounds, MR-D100 can be screened for green tack, filler wetting, processing, adhesion between components, and final cured properties. Check cure curve, heat build-up, hardness, tensile behavior, and aging because DCPD resin can affect more than initial tack.
For coatings and inks, evaluate solvent solubility, pigment wetting, gloss, drying response, adhesion, film hardness, and storage stability. Gardner color should be measured with the same solvent concentration and procedure used for the incumbent resin.
In adhesives, test compatibility with the selected EVA, rubber, or styrenic block copolymer; then record melt viscosity, open time, tack, peel, shear, and heat resistance. For asphalt and water-repellent formulations, run heating and cooling cycles that reproduce production and field conditions.
