Higher softening point generally raises the cohesive and heat-resistance contribution of the tackifier, but it can also increase blend viscosity and reduce low-temperature tack. The listed neat-resin viscosity is therefore a comparison point only. Measure the complete adhesive at its production and coating temperatures.
Formulation and application notes
MR-C5110 can be evaluated with SIS, natural rubber, synthetic polyisoprene, butyl rubber, selected EVA copolymers, and APAO. It is particularly relevant where a 100°C grade gives good wetting but insufficient shear holding power or warm-temperature performance. Start at the incumbent resin loading, then compare tack, peel, shear, open time, set speed, and heat-aging color.
In rubber and road-marking compounds, the grade can contribute adhesion, filler wetting, and binder strength. Confirm compatibility under the actual oil, polymer, pigment, and filler package. A clear melt cup is useful, but it is not enough: haze after cooling, phase separation, and storage stability must also be checked.
Because Wingtack 95 has a lower published softening point, moving to MR-C5110 may require more oil, a softer companion tackifier, or a lower resin loading to preserve aggressive tack.
