MR-C5100 is a light-color C5 aliphatic hydrocarbon resin with a nominal 100°C softening point. It is positioned in the general selection window of Escorez™ 1102 and comparable 100°C C5 tackifiers for pressure-sensitive adhesives, hot-melt adhesives, rubber compounds, sealants, and road-marking binders. It should be screened as a formulation candidate rather than assumed to be a drop-in replacement.
Typical values
The figures below are typical values, informed by public industry data for established C5 resins. They are not release specifications. Request the current Milorez TDS and agree the purchase specification before ordering.
| Property | Typical value | Method / condition |
|---|---|---|
| Softening Point (R&B) | 100°C | ASTM E28 |
| Color (Gardner) | ≤5 | 50% resin in toluene, ASTM D1544 |
| Acid Value | ≤0.5 mg KOH/g | ASTM D974 |
| Softening Point Variation | 98-102°C | Normal supply window |
| Melt Viscosity | 180-220 mPa·s | 200°C, ASTM D3236 |
| Appearance | Pale-yellow granules | Visual |
The 98-102°C window provides a practical balance between room-temperature tack development and cohesive strength at elevated service temperatures. Low acid value helps reduce unwanted interactions in nonpolar elastomer and hydrocarbon systems. Color should still be verified against the finished adhesive because polymer, antioxidant, oil, and process history all affect final appearance.
Formulation and application notes
MR-C5100 is a useful starting point with SIS, natural rubber, synthetic polyisoprene, butyl rubber, EVA with suitable vinyl-acetate content, and selected APAO systems. In PSA work, evaluate rolling-ball or loop tack together with 180° peel, shear holding power, and aging. In hot-melt formulations, record melt viscosity at the actual coating temperature rather than relying on neat-resin viscosity alone.
For road marking and rubber compounding, check filler wetting, softening behavior, color retention, and the balance between initial adhesion and cohesion. Begin with the current incumbent resin loading, then adjust in controlled steps. Polymer grade, oil type, wax, antioxidant package, and mixing sequence can change results materially.
Packaging, MOQ, and shipment
MR-C5100 is supplied in 25 kg bags on pallets. The standard MOQ is 1 × 20’ FCL, approximately 18 metric tonnes in the stated packing configuration. Commercial quotations are available FOB Xiamen or FOB Qingdao. A free 1-2 kg sample is available for laboratory evaluation; courier freight is collected from the recipient.
International grade comparison
MR-C5100 can be screened against Escorez 1102-range C5 resin, while recognizing that color methods, molecular-weight distribution, wax compatibility, and viscosity curves may differ; see the Escorez 1102 equivalent guide.

Frequently asked questions
What is MR-C5100?
MR-C5100 is a pale-yellow C5 aliphatic hydrocarbon resin with a nominal 100°C Ring-and-Ball softening point.
Is MR-C5100 a drop-in replacement for Escorez 1102?
It occupies a similar C5 tackifier selection window, but it is not presented as a universal drop-in replacement. Compatibility, viscosity, tack, peel, and aging should be checked in the buyer's formulation.
Which applications suit MR-C5100?
Typical starting points include hot-melt and solvent-borne pressure-sensitive adhesives, rubber compounding, sealants, and thermoplastic road-marking binders.
Can I request a sample and batch data?
Yes. Milorez provides a free 1-2 kg sample, with courier freight collected, and can issue the applicable TDS plus lot COA for a commercial shipment.
