MR-C9130 is a cold-polymerized aromatic C9 hydrocarbon resin with a nominal 130°C softening point and Gardner color of 4 maximum. It is intended for coatings, inks, adhesives, rubber compounds, and specialty binders where conventional thermal C9 color is too dark. Its closest international screening window includes light-color, high-softening C9 grades such as HIKOTACK® P-120HS.

Cold polymerization is used to obtain a lighter resin than many thermally polymerized C9 products. It does not make the resin water-white or hydrogenated. The 130°C softening point increases hardness and cohesive contribution, but it also raises processing viscosity compared with MR-C9110 and MR-C9120.
Formulation and application notes
In coatings, evaluate solution clarity, pigment wetting, gloss, hardness, adhesion, dry time, and weathering in the finished binder package. MR-C9130 can be considered where aromatic compatibility is useful but initial resin color needs tighter control.
For printing inks, test solvent release, print density, gloss, rub resistance, and storage stability. Do not compare Gardner readings taken from molten resin with readings from a 50% solution; the method and path length must be aligned.
In adhesives and rubber, high softening point can support warm-temperature cohesion and green strength. Confirm tack, peel, shear, low-temperature flexibility, filler interaction, cure behavior, and thermal aging. If viscosity or hardness becomes excessive, blend with a lower-softening C5/C9 resin rather than changing several formulation variables at once.
Before scale-up, repeat the trial with the same polymer lot, mixing sequence, antioxidant package, and temperature profile used in production. This separates resin effects from process variation and provides a defensible approval record.
