MR-5910 is the lower-aromatic member of the MR-59 pair. “Low aromatic” is a relative product-positioning description, not a universal compositional standard. If aromatic content is a release-critical parameter, state the required test method and limit in the inquiry.

Formulation and application notes

MR-5910 is a practical starting point with SIS, SBS, SBR, natural rubber, synthetic polyisoprene, butyl rubber, lower-VA EVA, and selected APAO or polyolefin systems. The low softening point can help initial tack, substrate wetting, and lower processing viscosity. The trade-off may be reduced shear or warm-temperature cohesion compared with a 100-110°C resin.

For PSA qualification, compare loop or rolling-ball tack, 180° peel, static shear, failure mode, and aging. For hot melts, record blend clarity, viscosity at the actual application temperature, open time, set speed, and heat resistance. Wax and oil selection can materially change compatibility.

In sealants and rubber compounds, assess extrusion or mixing behavior, green tack, creep, filler wetting, and final mechanical properties. If MR-5910 gives the required tack but insufficient cohesion, combine it with a higher-softening grade in a controlled ratio rather than changing resin, oil, and polymer simultaneously.

Wingtack 86 public data provides a useful selection reference, but differences in feedstock and molecular-weight distribution can alter performance even when softening point and color appear similar.
